Earlier mails from prospective customers to Renault India enquiring about the Duster used to get vague replies got a vague replies. How soon is your page indexed?

vishki Have you ever measured how long it takes for google to crawl and index your website or a new post/page in your website? I have three blogs, two are wordpress blogs and one is a blogger blog. Blogger blog is very new while the wordpress blogs are over an year old. I’m more regular on this website vishki.com which is on wordpress. This site relatively has more posts and visitors than the other two, yet google takes any where upto a day to index new posts. (more…)

All HP printers come with a sticker which has a phone number and a website for ordering cartridges. MNP Journal : Moving from Airtel to Idea

After a long relation with Airtel, it’s finally time to move out to a new operator and I’m moving to Idea Cellular. I’m currently a post paid customer in Airtel and will be taking a post paid plan in Idea.
Whats the reason? There is a serious signal issue with Airtel at the place where I spend most part of my life. Every single call, drops. This is not a remote place, this is happening at a prime location, at the centre of Hyderabad. I hardly have any call without a drop. Though airtel is my primary number, I’m using a second BSNL number currently to make and receive calls. I do not want to use multiple numbers, so decided to move to Idea with the same number. (more…)
Joining .001 .002 … files to a single file
September 1st, 2011 vishki When we try to download large files, say 2gb or 3gb, we often end up with multiple files with extensions like .001, .002 …. .999. These extensions normally indicate a large file being split into multiple parts using some software like hjsplit. You can use free applications like hjsplit, 7-zip etc to combine these parts and create the original large file. Since most people do not have these softwares installed on their machines, you get “select a program to open” dialog when you (more…)
Airtel 3G services launched in Hyderabad
April 8th, 2011 vishki Airtel 3G services are finally launched in Hyderabad on 5th April. It’s been a long wait for people who were waiting for Airtel to launch 3G services in Hyderabad. I received an SMS from Airtel informing the launch of 3G services on 6th April. This was also followed by a telemarketing call from Airtel later in the evening(TRAI, please bring the new telemarketers policy into action fast). (more…)
Google Street View car in Hyderabad?

I was taking a walk in the neighborhood today morning when a black colored Mahindra Scorpio went past me. I noticed a box (similar to plastic crates that are used in super markets,approximately 1ftx1ftx2ft) mounted on the top of the Scorpio. I did not pay much attention as I thought it to be some luggage.

Airtel 3G services in Hyderabad

Airtel has announced that it will be launching its 3G services in the country by the end of year, i.e., Dec 2010. BSNL and Tata Docomo have already launched their 3G services and when Airtel launches its services, it will be the 3rd operator to launch 3G services. Airtel 3G tariff is yet to be announced, but I think the tariff is going to be competitive with the tariff of BSNL/Tata Docomo.

October 3rd, 2010 vishki VISHKI. What’s about VISHKI. Well, there is nothing much really to tell about. VISHKI.com is just a personal blog of me. Who am I? I am …, ok, call me vishki. That’s my short name and I prefer being called that way.
Vishki.com is purely a personal blog. Its totally unfocused, unordered and probably going to be chaotic. Whats the purpose then? the only purpose is to post “WHATEVER STRIKES MY MIND”. Thats right, thats the tagline of my blog, 
. I hope you like the caption.
As the tagline indicates, I’m just going to putdown whatever strikes my mind. If I feel I should share something, I’m going to do that here. That could be anything, a morning dream or a nightmare, a review/feedback of a product I use, my opinion on something thats happening around or something I newly learned. Totally unfocused, isn’t it?
I’m sure that everyone is not going to like every post, and I’m equally sure that there will be at least one post of interest for every visitor and that completes my blog. Instead of sharing my thoughts with people around me who may not be interested at all in them, I’m sharing them here so that those who may be interested will read them.
