Back in November 2011, I bought the Nokia C2-03 with lot of hope. Having used a Nokia lower spec’d X1-01, it’s only natural that I expect C2-03 to be better. Did it turn out as expected? Read my quick review in the form of few quick points below to help you decide before you go ahead and buy this phone. (more…)

The much awaited Belle update for Nokia 500 is now available. Nokia has released the Belle update few weeks back for several models that came with Anna. Apple Socks

Apple Socks are fun, cool and protective accessory for most of the mobile phones and any other devices. Apple makes them for iPod/iPhone but they fit just as good for many other Apple and non Apple products. They are almost universal as they stretch and fit most phones. Just got a set and loving them. No, I do not have an iphone or ipod but I love the iphone socks and bought them for my Nokia. Apple and Nokia may be rivals, but the E71 and the socks look like they are made for each other.

Forgot your Nokia security code?

Based on your settings, your Nokia phone may ask for the security code at the time of power on, when sim card is changed or for changing some settings. The default security code for all Nokia mobile phones is 12345. This is the code that is set at factory and this is the code that your phone came with when you first bought it.  If you have never changed the code, 12345 is still your code. But if you changed the security code and forgot it then you have two options.

OVI Store : Purchase an app and use in multiple phones

I purchased Joikuspot premium from Nokia store on my E71. The app turns the phone into a wifi hotspot and lets us share the phones gprs/3g connection with other devices via wifi. I installed this on E71 and it works great.

When I logged into the OVI store on my new Nokia 500, the Joikuspot premium is still present under “My Stuff” with status “Not Installed”. I clicked on “Install”, it installed on 500 too and works perfectly. (more…)

MNP Journal : Moving from Airtel to Idea

After a long relation with Airtel, it’s finally time to move out to a new operator and I’m moving to Idea Cellular. I’m currently a post paid customer in Airtel and will be taking a post paid plan in Idea.

Whats the reason? There is a serious signal issue with Airtel at the place where I spend most part of my life. Every single call, drops. This is not a remote place, this is happening at a prime location, at the centre of Hyderabad. I hardly have any call without a drop. Though airtel is my primary number, I’m using a second BSNL number currently to make and receive calls. I do not want to use multiple numbers, so decided to move to Idea with the same number. Nokia 500 Review

Introduction
Nokia 500 is Nokias new mantra for regaining its position in the entry level smartphone market. Priced at Rs.10,000/-(Euro 150 approximately) and sporting a fast 1 gig processor there seems to be a big market awaiting this phone. I was personally waiting for the phone from the day it was announced. I was waiting for a low cost capacitive Nokia to replace the good old Nokia 5800 XM. I posted 5800 in classifieds the very same day 500 was announced and unfortunately someone picked it up immediately and we were using an intermediate basic phone for weeks before getting the 500.
